Job Description:
This is Dawn Tomas at GPAC. I am a recruiter specializing in the
food manufacturing industry. I’m reaching out today because we have
a client that has asked us to confidentially search for a full-time
Quality Assurance Manager, for their facility south of Madison.
This dairy company has been in business for 40 years and are
growing significantly, adding a new position. They are looking for
someone with Quality Assurance management experience, and able to
oversee 2 plants in town. This position is ideal for someone who
prefers to manage from the floor, not an office, and enjoys
mentoring personnel. I know that no one makes a change unless it is
better than what they are doing today. So that is my questions,
what would make another opportunity better than what you are doing
today? Duties and responsibilities: · Daytime hours but flexible
for special situations · Implement QA policies, procedures, and
directives to ensure compliance with company, customer, and
government expectations, providing feedback and follow-up for
corrective action. · Understand test results and be able to
communicate adequately to customers · Train and mentor Quality
Control Technicians · Participate in customer audits and annual SQF
audits as needed. · Conduct pre-shipment reviews, CCPs, validation
studies, and report deficiencies for GMPs, HACCP, and SSOPs. ·
Direct inspection and sampling activities to maintain continuous
control over materials, facilities, and products, including
specification inspections, temperature, and weight checks. ·
Identify and resolve problems promptly; skillfully gather and
analyze information; develop alternative solutions; and work well
in group problem-solving situations. · Collaborate with the Plant
Manager and Sanitation Manager to ensure proper housekeeping and
maintenance of facilities, equipment, and grounds. Qualifications:
· 3 years of supervisory experience preferred · Computer skills,
analytical, equipment and food-processing equipment knowledge. ·
Knowledge of quality control processes related to the
food-processing industry. · Knowledge of quality process control
and HACCP, SSOP and SOP. · Knowledge of USDA and FDA standards. ·
Experience with audits · Good organizational and communication
skills both verbally and written. · Familiarity with organic,
Kosher and Halal preferred · PCQI certification preferred · Food
science background preferred · Familiarity with inventory systems
(DSI preferred) · Familiarity with Capa forms · What’s in it for
