  What to expect:
  Reporting to the Building Services Manager, the Maintenance Worker is responsible for repairs and general maintenance of assigned County buildings, equipment, machinery and grounds in accordance with specifications and departmental procedures. Other duties consist of but are not limited to the following:
  • Assembly, disassembly, ignition, testing, treatment, and minor repairs of boilers
  • Inspection, installation, repairs performed on heating, water, gas and drainage systems, as well as air conditioning and air handling units (must be knowledgeable and able to use computerized HVAC control systems)
  • Maintenance and repairs on all aspects of buildings and grounds including lawn maintenance, snow removal, as well as indoor maintenance on various furniture and equipment
  • Respond to emergency calls during work hours and/or on weekends as needed
  • Other duties may include sanitizing Morgue, maintaining electrical circuits, maintaining vehicles and equipment, transport of disposal or recycling, cement and carpentry work, wand various repairs to woodwork
    The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:
    • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
    • Possess a valid driver's license
    • Understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions
    • Some high school courses related to required technical skills or three years related experience is required
    • Comprehends the principles of plumbing, electricity, carpentry, boilers, refrigeration cooling, painting and mechanics
    • Ability to utilize computers for preventative maintenance and work orders, HVAC controls, payroll and email systems
