Position Overview
The Senior Manager, Perishable Procurement & Merchandising manages the Merchandising team in achieving weekly gross profit goals, and implements sound merchandising vehicles with our independent retailers to drive topline sales. The Senior Manager also manages the merchandising support staff to ensure proper procedures and job responsibilities are being completed successfully.
Job Description

• Meet and/or exceed budgeted gross profit goals for respective divisions on a weekly basis to include weekly gross profit production by merchandisers and Marketing/Advertising funding in collaboration with applicable stakeholders.
• Manage and support merchandisers experiencing vendor issues, credit requests, paybacks, funding tracking, gross profit generation, and sales-driving programs
• Train, coach, mentor, and provide clear expectations to team members to achieve revenue goals and drive sales while providing opportunities for personal and professional growth to the team.
• Negotiate vendor contracts and manage vendor relationships to generate steady income stream for division.
• Manage the maximization of bill out and margin controls through alternative sourcing, margin controls, Flat Fees, and forward buys.
• Participate in, lead and execute special projects assigned by senior management.

    • Specialized Knowledge: Contract Negotiation, Supply Chain & Operations Management; Understanding of core competencies of wholesale model, ability to manage others. Understanding of commodities and how they work; Ability to negotiate, create, and build/leverage successful relationships with vendors, customers, and internal cross-functional teams.
    • Special Skills: Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills; Strong negotiation, organization, prioritization, problem-solving skills; Ability to set and communicate directions to team members.
      Years of Experience
      
      • 5-7: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the Retail or Wholesale industry. Experience leading teams preferred.
        Qualifications
        Bachelor's Degree - Business, Bachelor's Degree - Logistics & Transportation, Bachelor's Degree - Merchandising and Buying Operations
