Job Description:
Position OverviewAs a Retail Operations Supervisor, you will
consult, direct, and manage all aspects of the assigned stores'
department operations in a manner designed to maximize sales and
gross margins, department market shares and increase revenue and
profitability as applicable to department assigned, and provide
positive customer experiences. You will ensure the effective
utilization of personnel and available company resources and work
closely with decision makers and independent store owners to assist
with department specific sales and merchandising as well as
increasing the volume of company products and programs, as
applicable.Job DescriptionDescriptionMaximize department sales and
gross profits (if applicable to assigned department) using a
combination of company programs and the past experience to provide
direction, supervision, counsel and evaluations for the retail
stores. Provide counsel to store owners/managers/department
managers on equipment and operating practices and/or product
merchandising and selection, pricing, personal training and
evaluatingObserve and ensure that all corporate store/company
policies in assigned corporate stores are followed. When applicable
or if necessary, suggest, submit or implement changes and additions
to such policies in accordance with the guidelines in the company
operations manual to correct deficiencies or to address problem
areas that may not be adequately covered by existing policies or
proceduresEnsure that assigned store departments are compliant with
all state, county and local weights and measures laws, and labeling
requirements are followed in the department;Assist store managers
in interviewing, hiring, and training department managers and
employees including planning, assigned, and directing work,
rewarding and disciplining employees, developing personnel for
future department management positions and addressing employee
complaints and resolving problems in assigned department when
neededMake individual store visits and assist store owners in
achieving and maintaining business relationship with the company
Implement and adhere to all local, state and federal health and
civil code regulations including full compliance with all
applicable laws pertaining to safety, sanitation, health and
packaging requirements as applicable in all assigned
storesResearch, create, assist, participate, and present new
programs, special buys, promotion sale days, department
merchandising/training seminars and special projects as
applicableResponsible to assist and supervise new store set-ups,
resets, and staff trainingMonitor labor scheduling and suggest
changes in department schedules in assigned storeResponsible for
corporate store department managers who supervise the employees
within the stores' departmentsObserve and ensure all assigned
stores under labor contracts adhere to respective labor
agreementsPerform other duties and assignments as directedTravel

90F)SkillsSpecialized Knowledge : Be fully knowledgeable and
thoroughly familiar with the nature and duties of every staff
position in the department including procedures, policies and
operations;Special Skills : Be able to perform arithmetical
calculations of cutting tests; to calculate tare weight allowances;
to analyze or calculate gross margins, yields, ratios, fractions,
percentages and itemized pricing/proportion breakdowns for boxed
deli/bakery; verify vendor invoice charges and counts; complete and
submit required records and reports.Physical abilities: : You must
frequently walk, talk or hear, and reach with the hands and arms;
occasionally, the you must crouch or kneel; regularly required to
sit; stand; and use the hands to handle, finger, or feel objects,
tools or controls; You must have the ability to hear, speak and
understand the spoken word in order to respond promptly to in-store
pages for assistance, to accommodate verbal inquiries from
customers, to answer telephones, and to be able to communicate
effectively with store owner/managers, department managers,,
department employees, the store's co-workers, and customers, and
sales representatives; Have the ability to read, write, analyze,
interpret and understand the English language with sufficient
proficiency in order to read, understand, and/or present
effectively: business periodicals, professional journals, technical
procedures, or governmental regulations; instructions for operating
electronic equipment and tools; company handbooks, policies and
procedures and other written job-related documents, e-mails and
postings on company bulletin boards; You must be able to exert of
lift up to 50 pounds; Be able to work with fresh fruits,
vegetables, house plants and flowers without suffering negative
allergic consequences that impact performance; Have sufficient
physical mobility or agility to be able to respond quickly to fire
or other emergencies such as cleanup requests (due to accidental
spills or breakage of glass or plastic containers having liquid
contents), shoplifting and other security assistance requests,
customer accidents, etc; Be able to tolerate moderate amounts of
dust and chemical fumes from common household cleaning agents such
as ammonia during routine housekeeping duties;Other: : Must have a
valid driver's license; Must be able to travel between stores and
stay over-night if requiredBe able to pass company-directed
training programs or modules; : If applicable to department
assigned, must have a full understanding of an Operator's License
required by local ordinances, referred to as Bartender's License.
License is necessary at store level to comply with having person
responsible on store premises, in a physical position to oversee
the front end operation at all times alcoholic beverages are sold
during saleable hours. Must meet all requirements as designated in
State Statutes to be granted Operator's License in accordance to
local ordinance.Years Of Experience2-5 : Experience in the grocery
