How You'll Make a Difference: Provides basic patient care in the clinical setting under the daily direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN). Performs delegated tasks in the patient care setting that support the environment of patient care. Assists the RN with the daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, repositioning, ambulation, and feeding. Measures and documents blood pressures, TPRs (temperature, pulse, respiration), I & O (intake and output), daily weights, and other patient data as requested. Documents requested information and promptly communicates observations, concerns, and needs of the patient to the RN. Ensures patient call light is in reach of patient at all times; answers call-lights promptly. Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens as requested. Completes various errands as directed, including pick-up and delivery of trays, charts, specimens, reports, etc. Prepares patient rooms for admission/discharge and assists with the patient admission/discharge process. Maintains and orders stock for nursing area; cleans equipment and work areas. Assists with post-mortem care. Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique and assistive devices. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards. What it Will Take: Licenses & Certifications Nurse Aide in good standing with the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry. Degrees Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Nursing Assistant. Required Functional Experience No experience required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent written and oral communication.Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities. Scheduled Hours:
- Looking for weekend program interest in all of our departments.
- All shifts available with the option to work 8 or 12 hour shifts.
- Option to work Friday, Saturday, Sunday (if 8 hour shifts) or just Saturday & Sunday (if 12 hour shifts).
- Eligible weekend program participants will recieve $5 more per hour (in addition to any shift premiums).
