Job Description Alliance Services, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN DOU - Direct Observation Unit for a travel nursing job in Wausau, Wisconsin. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: DOU - Direct Observation Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/06/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 48 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Estimated Gross Weekly Pay: $3216.00 /n/n Opportunity: /n RN - Observation Unit /n/n Job Details: /n • Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM /n• 48 guaranteed hours per week with overtime after 48 hours worked /n• Float to all inpatient units as needed /n• Can be low censused and put on call with 2-hour minimum call back /n• Every other weekend and every other holiday schedule /n• 1:4 patient ratio in 8-bed unit with 2 RNs per shift /n• Care for patients with anemia, cellulitis, COPD, CHF, dehydration, pre-op, urology and GI conditions /n• Manage drips including cardiac Cardizem, Nitro, insulin, and Heparin /n• Handle high volume of admissions and discharges with average stays up to 48 hours /n• Must have 3 years of experience with 1 travel assignment required /n• Background in observation units or step-down MS/Tele units preferred /n• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips required /n• EPIC charting experience required /n• Required certifications: Wisconsin RN license, BLS, ACLS /n• Must take EKG exam during compliance /n• Associate degree or certificate required /n• Must be outside 50-mile radius from facility /n• Any color scrubs permitted /n• Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours /n/n Facility: /n This healthcare facility operates a specialized 8-bed observation unit that serves patients requiring short-term monitoring and care.
