Job Description:
Southern Health Partners is seeking a dedicated Certified
Medication Aide to join our team, dedicated to providing
high-quality healthcare within correctional facilities. With a
focus on integrity, patient safety, and delivering cost-effective
healthcare solutions, the chosen candidate will be instrumental in
ensuring the systematic and humane treatment of patients in our
care. This role requires precise medication administration,
monitoring patient responses, and working collaboratively with the
healthcare team to facilitate comprehensive healthcare services
tailored to meet the needs of a diverse patient population.
Administer prescribed medications to patients and maintain related
medical records under supervision. Verify the identity of the
patient receiving medication and record the name of the drug,
dosage, and time of administration on specified forms or records.
Measure vital signs such as temperature, respiration, and blood
pressure. Monitor patients and report any adverse reactions to
medication or treatment to professional staff immediately. Maintain
medication inventory, ensure secure storage to uphold safety
standards, and adhere to all regulatory guidelines. Educate
patients about medication, including possible side effects and
interactions, emphasizing understanding and compliance. Coordinate
with healthcare professionals to plan for patient care, advocating
for the patient’s health and well-being within the facility.
Proficient in administering medications and understanding orders
Strong organizational and observational skills Ability to
communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members
Knowledge of basic medical terminology and healthcare practices

Valid certification as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) from a
recognized state board CPR/BLS certification is preferred
