Job Title: Diagnostic Imaging Technologist Job Specialty: Cath Lab Technologist, Radiologic Technologist Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift with On-Call Rotation (Weeknights, Weekends, and Holidays) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum years not specified License: IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required Certifications: ARRT(R), ARRT(VI) or ARRT(CI), BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: Graduate of accredited radiology program Job Description: - Schedule includes Day Shift with 1-2 on-call shifts per week and 1 weekend per month. - Cardiovascular Intervention specialties include Interventional Cardiology, Interventional Neurology, Interventional Radiology, and Electrophysiology. - Verify patient identification and the presence of appropriate signed informed procedural consent. - Identify allergies and history of contrast reactions using patient records and by questioning the patient. - Verify the integrity and expiration dates of sterile supplies and medications. - Prepare equipment for sterilization. - Monitor and record vital signs; assess distal pulses pre and post-procedure. - Participate in pre-procedural time-out activities. - Prepare access sites with sterile drapes and covers to ensure patient comfort. - Prepare the patient for examination, including physiological monitoring equipment. - Assist physicians by selecting the appropriate contrast agents and operating injectors. - Administer medications according to physician's orders. - Recognize and respond to patient emergencies. - Monitor and maintain medical equipment during procedures. - Adjust and calibrate pressure transducers. - Use sterile and aseptic techniques to prevent infection. - Handle biohazardous materials appropriately. - Advocate for radiation safety, wear a radiation dosimeter, and minimize exposure. - Document fluoroscopy time and radiation doses accurately. - Utilize imaging protocols to optimize image quality while minimizing doses. - Employ image enhancement techniques during procedures. - Acquire, process digital images, and perform 3D reconstructions. - Assist with ultrasound guidance for vascular or organ access. - Monitor and record procedural data, including injection and medication details. - Provide patient post-procedural care, such as applying pressure and dressings. - Apply vascular closure devices. - Provide practical instruction for students and partners. - Ensure holiday coverage as required.
