give care. Job Summary The Mammography Technologist at Prevea
Health performs diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance to
the Radiologist protocols. This role is mainly responsible for
conducting mammograms while also supporting general x-ray. What you
will do - Performs mammography and general imaging that may include
specialty such as Orthopedics. - Position imaging equipment and
adjust techniques as appropriate to patient body habitus - Record,
process, and maintain patient data within the electronic medical
record and PACs System. - Completes all image processing procedures
and QC testing. Follows Radiologist protocols to ensure images are
of diagnostic quality. - Use radiation safety measures and
protection devises to comply with government regulations to ensure
the safety of patients and staff - Communicates with patients to
explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment
of patients’ understanding and address any questions or concerns -
Perform phlebotomy and basic lab testing as ordered by providers -
Potential to rotate on mobile mammography unit. Education
Qualifications - Graduation from an accredited or approved program
in Radiological Technology Required Experience Qualifications - 1-3
years Current clinical experience in diagnostic radiology
preferably mammography. Clinical student experience may be
considered in lieu of one year current clinical experience.
Preferred Skills and Abilities - Knowledge of anatomy, physiology
and positioning to sufficiently image the area/areas of interest. -
Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology including
equipment, body mechanics and patient movement. - Skill in
establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with
patients, medical staff, and the public. - Fosters work and patient
relationships through excellent interpersonal skills and behaviors.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet changing demands. - Ability
to work in a fast-paced environment. - Ability to work under
stressful or emergency situations with high concentration and
energy level. - Possess skills to effectively problem solve. -
Proficient in the use of EMR systems, computer, phone and office
equipment. - Possess effective written and verbal communication.
Licenses and Certifications - Current American Registry of
Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification Upon Hire Required -
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Mammography
Certification or is eligible based on standards of actively
training towards this certification within 1 Year Required -
Radiographer License issued by the state of WI Upon Hire Required -
CPR/BLS Certification - Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
