Job Description:

Major Responsibilities:Develops and maintains key partnerships with system leaders and influences to improve outcomes, safety, operations and regulatory preparedness. Champion and develop system-wide technical improvements/changes that foster optimized, integrated workflows. Applies advanced knowledge of evidence-based practice, regulatory requirements, safety, quality initiatives, and business critical needs to develop, design and deliver recommended solutions.Proactively monitors/evaluates the effectiveness of programs, clinical applications and systems. Leads organization-wide initiatives to deliver successful implementation, administration and documentation of new and/or existing clinical applications. Designs and delivers new and advanced applications while also designing modifications to enhance existing applications for clinical operational needs.Champions and leads system-wide and key interdepartmental projects collaborating with physicians/clinicians, nursing, clinical end users, patient care leaders and organization-wide functional areas to identify opportunities for optimization and technical improvements/changes that foster streamlined and integrated workflows.Leads interdisciplinary teams to deliver design modifications to enhance clinical operational needs while managing deadlines, deliverables and project resources. Evaluates effectiveness collaborates with other project teams to modify related aspects of programs accordingly.Designs, develops and implements advanced/complex workflows and programs across the organization, care settings, multiple applications and/or highly specialized areas of care delivery. Applies advanced knowledge of policies and clinical resources to align information technology with key, organizational business initiatives and strategy and well as formulate requirements for operational improvements.Leads and supports complex, multifaceted troubleshooting and issue resolution independently. Identifies and engages key functional areas, partners and vendor when appropriate. Acts as a consultant and coaches on highly integrated and specialty-focused issues related to clinical applications.Designs and develops standardized best practice workflows, processes and clinical content to ensure alignment across all sites/departments to support improved quality and patient safety outcomes. Identifies, monitors and analyzes metrics that evaluate the effectiveness of deployed programs/initiatives recommending mitigation's when necessary.Leads and facilitates interdisciplinary teams including EHR subject matter experts championing clinical content design to ensure end-user needs are addressed though all phases of the clinical information system life cycle (e.g. plans, designs, builds, tests, implements, monitors, evaluates).Audits efficiency, performance and data integrity reports to identify/resolve potential issues, proactively investigates within and outside the organization for potential system process improvements, and recommends/implements changes. Performs data analysis to support data requirements and initiatives.Serves as a mentor to team members, colleagues, and partnering functional areas.Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:None Required.Education Required:Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, orBachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy, orBachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy, orBachelor's Degree in Speech Pathology, orBachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration, orBachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Information Technology or related field.Experience Required:Typically requires 5 years of experience in clinical informatics, clinical education, clinical information systems, workflow and process improvement with related clinical experience.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:Certification AddendumCurrent licensure or certification required/required within timeframe determined in areas or function they support as demonstrated by but not limited to industry recognized EPIC/EHR vendor application certification, HIMSS and/or ANCC Board.Maintains compliance with adopted standards (e.g. DNV, ISO 9001, Magnet, etc).Advanced understanding of clinical practice as it pertains to the integration of clinical information systems and impact on end users.Advanced knowledge of clinical application software.Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.Demonstrated analytical skills necessary to make sound recommendations based on data analysis.Demonstrated ability to develop project timelines, implement project tasks and evaluate project outcomes.Ability to understand user needs/requirements and make recommendations on system specification solutions.Demonstrated success in building and fostering positive relationships with physicians, nurses and other clinical team members.Knowledge and adherence to HIPPA regulations related to information security and confidentiality.Strong presentation skills.Leads department assignments and projects.Ability to foster collaborative planning and implementation strategies in partnership with leadership.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Travel between AAH sites, as well as out of town travel as required.Flexibility with scheduling, including off shifts and weekend is required.May assume on-call responsibilities that require business critical and/or emergent clinical informatics support and/or EHR education involvement.Required to work independently and independently, with remote/virtual work as times, therefore, routinely and consistently available by phone and/or online (MS Teams, Skype, etc).Lifting restrictions, walking restrictions, patient care specifics.Position requires physical rounding on key stakeholders, ability to walk for extensive periods of time to all physical areas of the hospital, HOD, and/or clinic. Lifting, reaching and bending throughout the day may also be required as assisting key stakeholders.Exposed to patient care areas, therefore, personal protective equipment most by worn per AAH policy.This job description indicates the general nature and level of work expected of the incumbent.
