We are looking for caring, dedicated, and hard-working individuals who can work both independently and as part of a team.Job DescriptionYou will be working under the general supervision of the Area Director by providing a variety of services. These services can include but are not limited to, providing telephone and mobile crisis intervention, crisis counseling, assessment, and referrals. You will be working closely with the community providers, law enforcement, school personnel, clients, and their families. The duties and responsibilities of this position include a non-standard work schedule and on-call coverage.Pay and Benefits

  • Competitively compensated with a starting average wage of $19.02.
  • Eligible for a line of benefits to include: dental, health, vision, 401k, life insurance, and a PTO accrual program.
  • Stable schedule with a 3 day work week.
  • Time and a half for hours worked on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays.Responsibilities
    • Receives mobile crisis calls for Sheboygan County via the crisis line managed by North East Family Services
    • Interview individuals in crisis and families to obtain mental health and/or AODA information and assess the immediate behavioral health needs. Assessments will be completed in person in the community, at the individual's residence, hospital, jail, school, or at the mobile crisis office location.
    • Provides direct telephone and mobile crisis intervention services to children, adolescents, adults, and families in the community.
    • In accordance with WI Statutes, Ch. 51.001 (1) & (2), decisions related to the assessment of clinical needs of individuals hospitalized, to assure all people in need of care access to the least restrictive treatment alternative appropriate to their needs, and movement through all treatment components to assure continuity of care, within the limits of available state and federal funds and of county funds required to be appropriated to match state funds.
    • Staff will demonstrate the ability to interact professionally with clients who may be challenging and potentially hostile. Staff will have the ability to interview individuals and families to obtain aging, dementia, mental health, and/or substance use information and assess the needs of the individual and family. Assessments must be completed in person.
    • Develops crisis plans to utilize the strengths of the individual/family and available community resources to resolve the immediate crisis and facilitates follow-up interventions.
    • Represents the Sheboygan County Health & Human Services department for approval of WI Stats, Ch 51 emergency detentions, and inpatient funding when indicated.
    • Staff will provide court testimony, as needed, on circumstances leading to Ch. 51 emergency detentions.
    • Performs other duties within the crisis program, as needed, and as assignedQualifications
      • Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology, human services or related field and a minimum of one year experience with a mental health population, or a combination of experience providing mental health services or work experience and training equivalent to a bachelor's degree including a minimum of four years of work experience providing mental health services.
      • Must possess the ability to interact professionally with clients who may be challenging and potentially hostile.
      • A minimum of one year of experience working with youth in mental health is preferred.Additional Requirements
        • Required to pass the WI BID and other background checks, upon hire
        • Must have a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and insurable driving record that meets Vista Care's current driving requirements

        • Personal vehicle and personal liability insurance must always remain current and within policy limits as determined by Vista Care. Documentation of routine maintenance of a personal vehicle must be maintained and presented to Vista Care upon request#IND101
